I am a product of immigrant migration (along with probably half the population of these United States) and I know most of what it took for my mother to get here, so to say open door policy is a stretch. The land of opportunity, where the streets are paved with gold has to protect at least the idea of it. If the United States was made accessible to everyone, then the country would lose its prestige and exclusivity. As a place that was once built on the promise of freedom, we believe that our idealogies are automatically welcomed by the world and clearly with the events stemming from the tradegy of 9/11 there are people out there that strongly disagree. Those people should not be given access to our most treasured possesion, our freedom. If you have not guessed it by now- I say “No” to the open door policy and “Yes” to people looking for a life filled with opportunity.

This is a sticky subject, but an immigrant myself I do not believe there should be an open door policy towards immigration. So much has happen since 9/11 and the government must take a stance on who enters the USA. Kutty I do agree with your comment.
