Q&A with DRE.B.EZ: Do you believe the U.S. should have an open door policy toward immigration?

Hmm… that’s a tough one. There’s so many immigrants in this country, you would have thought we’ve already agreed to an open door policy. I love the United States just because it’s one big cultural melting pot though. I would never want to it any other way. Think about all of the things you can’t live without- the services provided to you by “the immigrant” who’s just happy to be here, seeking every moment to fit right into the American ideal of life- i.e. the close family that prepares your dreaded guilty pleasure- the tasty, yet calorie-filled Chinese food you try to avoid but always fall victim to in the late night hours, the African & Middle Eastern cab drivers who chauffeur you around the city when you’re feeling Hollywood and on the go, and even the bussers and cooks at your favorite restaurant. Let’s face it- immigrants provide all of the services your average American just won’t fathom calling “a job”. We need immigrants in the U.S., we just don’t need any coming into the country without good intentions. Nowadays that’s kind of difficult to determine, and as a result I guess I’m against an open door policy. People are going to try to do what they want anyway, so if there’s any immigrant clever enough to illegally get into the U.S., it’s cool… you can stay. We can’t do anything about it, but step our game up! Right?
